- Key Responsibilities
- Provides accounting and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the AfAS Secretariat office
- Support the AfAS secretariat office by performing tasks related to organization and communication
- Compiling the Agenda, issuing meeting invites, taking notes, and preparing minutes of meetings
- Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports, and other correspondence
- Provide support to the Project Manager in maintaining the Accounting and Payroll Systems.
- Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical
- Make travel arrangements such as booking flights, cars, hotel reservations, and conferencing.
- Being a point of contact for AfAS members and a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Developing processes to improve AfAS administrative processes
- Updating the AfAS website
- Drafting reports and analysis of information/data at the request of the Head of Secretariat/Project Manager.
- Minimum Educational Qualifications
Diploma, Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management. An Honours degree will be an added advantage
- Minimum Work Experience
At least one year experience in an Accounting and Administration Department within a scientific work environment
