WAISSYA (West African International Summer School for Young Astronomers) is now PASEA (Pan African School for Emerging Astronomers)! Call for expressions of interest for hosting PASEA 2021.

Since 2013, WAISSYA has been organising week-long astronomy workshops for undergraduate and post-graduate students and teachers.  The workshop, facilitated by an international team of instructors bringing a wealth of experience in different fields, offers African science students the opportunity to inspire their scientific curiosity and interest in astronomy.

Before now, WAISSYA has had a West African focus. However, our student community is diversifying, coming from 15 countries for WAISSYA2019, including non West African countries such as Rwanda, Congo and Ethiopia. You can read more about how WAISSYA has evolved here https://tinyurl.com/y9dfbdap

A call has been issued for expressions of interest from potential hosts anywhere in Africa for PASEA, check it out here: https://tinyurl.com/y9bbuu8tClosing date is 31st July 2020.

Attending PASEA can broaden your horizons and prepare you for a career in astronomy, or other STEM fields.
